Tis' the Season

The families of The Restoration House have seen an unbelievable amount of support over the last year and even more so over the last month. There have been two new volunteer teams trained, whole churches and foundations coming into partnership to provide space to work with even more single mother families, people donating professional services, volunteers helping to raise crucial funds, board members stategizing for the future, and so much more!

We want to say a special thanks to Crossings, Farragut Christian Church, Grace Baptist Church, West Towne Christian Church, and Woodlawn Christian Church for all they blessed our families with this holiday season through things like The Family Christmas Shop, The Big Give, and the Christmas Tea.

A Barrier Comes Down

One of the things we have learned in walking with low-income single mothers is that there are really three barriers that more often than not hold the family back from achieving financial self sufficiency. Well at The Restoration House we are trying to help break down these barriers and others by working hand in hand with our participating families.Ford Focus

The Restoration House Honored

The Restoration House was recently honored by Warren Village in Denver, CO. Warren Village has been working with single parents since the mid 1970's and has developed an extremely successful "transformational housing" program which The Restoration House models itself after.

We are incredibly excited about this recognition and you can read all about it here.

Two New Members of the Team

God's blessings come in all forms but why I find is they often come in the form of another person. All through September, God has been turning The Restoration House upside with staff moving on to other things and new staff coming in.

Brittany, our latest Family Advocate, has been such a blessing over her time at TRH. She was great with the moms and brought a new layer of professionalism to our program. We are sad to see her go but are thankful for the new and exciting opportunities she has ahead of her.

At the same time God has brought us two new people to the team. First, Megan is serving as our Resident Family Advocate now through this coming May. She is a second year graduate student at UT's College of Social Work. She is already proving exceptional. Here is a quick note from her.
