New Season

Every year it feels like the holidays sneak up so quickly.  Not long after we put away our warm weather clothes do the leaves start to change and the air begins to feel crisp.  Before we can even grip onto our pumpkin spiced lattes, a rush of Christmas comes bounding in.  It comes with such quickness, that I almost want time to pause.  Just give me a little more time, Lord.  A little more time to enjoy this season that […]

A Huge Volunteer Victory!

After Saturday’s win against Georgia, you probably think I’m talking about the Big Orange!  Though that was definitely an awesome victory, I’m actually talking about a different type of volunteer teamwork that we’ve experienced since we’ve moved into The Village. Making the move to The Village has been exciting, for sure, but it’s also been a lot of work, much more work than we could possibly handle as a staff.  That’s where the incredible volunteer teamwork came into play!  These […]

1st Annual Block Party

On August 16th, The Restoration House and Piney Grove Baptist Church partnered together to throw a huge block party for all our neighbors to thank them for their continued patience with the building of The Village, as well as to share with them the progress firsthand. The morning was filled with face painting, games, a bounce house, snow cones, balloon animals, hot dogs and lots of laughter. We loved meeting new neighbors and re-connecting with many others. A huge thank you to Piney Grove Baptist Church for all of their […]

Family Night – July 2014

On July 26th The Restoration House, including TRH families, staff and mentors, all converged at Hardin Valley Church of Christ for our quarterly Family Night. It was a very fun night filled with bountiful food, laughter, water games for the kids, and powerful training for the adults. We want to say a special thanks to Stanley Taylor, COO of the Tennessee Valley Coalition for the Homeless. Stanley shared with the mentors and staff from his heart as he challenged us about God’s view of restoration and what […]
